Private Demo Testing

Greetings!

We've just released the alpha demo (ver 0.12).

This being our first game, and the beginning of releasing playable content into the wild, we wanted to
keep it somewhat small and cozy, without as much marketing fuss as we could have done.

If you're reading this, you'll be among a small handful of people who're playing the game in its first incarnation.
We think it's a special thing because we truly believe The Remainder is something at least a bit interesting and will only
get better with time

If you play it at all, that would already be cool, but if you decide to tell us what you think about it, and potentially help us improve the game, that'd be cooler still, and you'll have our gratitude.

Also, do have fun! We hope you're here because you're genuinely intrigued by what you see and that you get some
enjoyment out of the story.

#Links removed since they're outdated now.

Once we've gotten a round of feedback, and nothing looks to be seriously broken, then we will put the demo up officially on itch, and also make it possible to support us via donations.

On a related note, we set up a discord server for the project as a central hub to interact with you.

If you want to talk to us in real-time and interact with other fans and supporters of the game, it'll be the place to be.
It's also where you can see more of our process, our inspirations, discarded ideas, works in progress, and all kinds of other development minutiae that won't be seen anywhere else, most likely, things that a fan will care about. ;)

Thank for reading, we hope to see you around!

I just finished playing the demo and I am simply speechless...

The haunting music, the gorgeous art, the unsettling mood shifts, the letters, the journal, everything works together to create such an immersive experience!

And of course, how could I forget Ilar? Pained, sincere, and infuriatingly elusive, Ilar's hidden past with the MC (or what little I managed to uncover of it lol) just about made me cry. My heart ached bitterly for them as I played. I have so many questions, both for Ilar and for you guys! There is so much hidden knowledge weaved into the atmosphere and narrative, I'm truly at the edge of my seat!

Thank you for making such a spellbinding work of art and I'm excited to see what happens next! :)

P.S. Don't forget to rest and take care of yourselves! The Remainder is a beautiful piece and it's clear to see that it is an elaborate work with many complex sliding parts. Take time to recharge, you've worked hard and we all appreciate it! ^-^

Thanks so much! Our first review on itch, yay! We’re very happy to hear that you enjoyed it so much, especially about the hidden aspects of it. We really spent time and effort in creating and then hiding most of the story, so that it can be unraveled little bits at a time. We hope you’ll keep checking in with our progress, the payoff should be worth it. ;)
