Most people spend their whole lives never touching magick, and some are gripped by it before they ever open their eyes. Is there a place in this world for a child cursed with the hunger of the moons? For a child with a song that wants to be sung? Will they devour one another or find salvation in each other’s embrace?

The world of Tal'Dun is shaped by mysterious forces of the Sea, a power that gives and takes life. Touching its waters brings death to most people, but in rare cases some survive it and become magi.  Evin and Near come from very different circumstances,  one grew up in a tiny village and stumbled upon magick by accident, and the other was born with it and spent their life locked away in a temple. Despite this, as if pulled together by the currents of the Sea, their paths cross, and now a storm is brewing.

The story deals with emotionally heavy themes and are intended for a mature audience.

We are releasing one chapter every other Wednesday  for free. For those who would like them sooner, they are available for our supporters of Magus tier and above on Kofi and Patreon, where currently you can read up to chapter 29 and we post 4 chapters  every month.

We already have one finished story in this setting, find CoT: The Remainder here.

This is a work in progress so a lot of things will change over time. Also, let us know if you spot any typos or other issues. We are trying our best, but there are probably many things we missed.

Huge thanks to our test readers Brombeer,  Aetheries and Sarianne who read what we write many, many times and without them this would be just an angry swarm of typos.

the story has not even begun and there are already two very strange typos "there oey were" and "oeir wonderous song"

Edit: I just noticed it's intentional LMAO

Hello from Russia.Your project is insanely beautiful and atmospheric. Are you planning to translate into other languages?Russian, French, German, for example?

(+3)

Hi, you're very kind!

We are working on translating to several languages, All the ones you mentioned, plus a few more. But it is not with a professional translation service, so it's going kinda slowly, but we will make it happen eventually. :)

What with the oey and oeir man? They make no sense

(+6)(-1)

Just seems to be gender neutral pronouns like they/them/theirs or ey/em/eirs, ze/zem/zirs etc. Not seen this type before and guessing they could be inworld ones only but it's easy enough to get used to.

(+1)(-6)

A whining like your makes no sense. Come on, don't be a meanie and get used to various pronouns. It's not hard

Im kinda bad at writing cohesive reviews and such but I just wanted to say that the art and the writing are really beautiful in this!! I just finished the other game, which I got super invested in, and was so happy to see that there was another story in the same universe. I cannot wait to see what else happens in the story, its so gorgeous already :)

Thank you so much for playing. <3 We really appreciate it! Was there anything you wish was done differently in the other game? We are always trying to finetune our projects and smooth out potential parts that might be confusing, and I’m very interested to hear from people who think there is still room to improve based on the rating they gave us.

omg hii!! thank you for taking the time to reply that's so nice <3 and regarding the other game, there wasn't anything I would change in particular! There were some parts that were a bit confusing to me narrative-wise at first because there are a lot of layers to it, but after I discovered the guide on steam, I was able to properly understand everything a lot better! I can tell the lore and word-building is well thought-out, and everything came together in the end very well. It's a super unique story and I think that's why I enjoyed it so much ^-^

This looks great so far, and I can't wait to see what happens next! Also, your test readers did an amazing job. I did not see any grammar, punctuation or spelling mistakes while I was reading.

That's so lovely to hear! Thanks for the rating, it means a lot. We also can't wait to share more of the story with you. :)

Me neither! I'm so excited! 😁
